Brush harvesting of wildflower seed is a responsible and sustainable way of harvesting wildflower meadows and an excellent way of replicating good mixtures.
We brush harvest local county seed from native wildflower down land and meadows which is available for sale. The seed we harvest is certified by Natural England and can be used under ELS and HLS schemes or where local and native providence is important.
Because of the nature of the wildflower meadows, the seed which we take off can be of all different sizes and therefore becomes a mixture very difficult to regulate and clean. The brush harvested seed will contain small grass stems so therefore drilling the seed is not possible, and is best mixed with sand and broadcast.
We also offer our brush harvesting service and would be happy to quote for local work which can include harvesting, cleaning and drying.
